About me
My name is Mai Sato. I am a photographer based in Los Angeles and Las Vegas.
Before my professional career in photography, I had worked for Cirque du Soleil for 10 years, performing as an aerial acrobat. Previously, I worked in computer graphic design in Tokyo. These diverse experiences bring a unique perspective and creative approach to my photography.
Beyond photography, mindfulness is at the heart of my lifestyle. I am passionate about exploring the flow of energy within the body and our profound connection to nature. This awareness allows me to uncover beauty and grace in every subject I photograph.
In my work, I focus not only on the model but also on the overall colors and energy of the space, capturing the essence of each moment in a single image. I currently specialize in artistic portraits, working primarily with artists, dancers, and actors. Rather than capturing just the surface, I aim to express the inner beauty of my subjects with gratitude, seeing it through the eyes of the heart.

ロサンゼルス在住の日本人写真家です。
写真家として活動する以前は、10年間にわたりシルク・ドゥ・ソレイユの舞台でエアリアルアーティストとして世界各地で公演を重ねてきました。さらにその前は、日本で3DCGのグラフィックデザイナーとしてキャリアを積んでいます。こうした異なる経験が、私の写真にユニークな視点と表現を与えています。
写真に限らず、マインドフルネスは私のライフスタイルの中心にあります。身体の中のエネルギーの流れや、自然との深い繋がりを探求することに情熱を注いでいます。この意識が、私の撮影するすべての被写体に美しさと優雅さを見出す手助けとなっています。
撮影では、モデルだけでなく背景を含めた「空間全体の色彩やエネルギー」を大切にし、その瞬間の本質を一枚の写真に映し出すことを大切にしています。現在は、アーティストやダンサー、俳優の方々を中心に、アーティスティックなポートレートを専門に撮影しています。表面的な形だけではなく、心で感じながら、被写体の内側から溢れる美しさを感謝とともに写真に表現することを目指しています。
